She must disguise herself to stay alive, using ancient shape-shifting magic, until her new master has selected his three wishes.

But when the King of the Jinn offers Zahra a chance to be free of her lamp forever, she seizes the opportunity—only to discover she is falling in love with Aladdin. When saving herself means betraying him, Zahra must decide once and for all: is winning her freedom worth losing her heart?

As time unravels and her enemies close in, Zahra finds herself suspended between danger and desire in this dazzling retelling of Aladdin from acclaimed author Jessica Khoury.

**I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you very much! This doesn’t affect the review in any way. My opinions, as always, are my own.**

I loooved reading this sneak peek. The language/prose was beautiful, the writing style was filled with magic and wonder, and the descriptions were so vivid that sometimes I felt like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book. Khoury gets a 10/10 for her writing skills!!!! ❤ ❤

The narration is BRILLIANT. It’s written as if Zahra is telling her friend the story and that made the events sound more personal and following on the journey even more fun!

My only comment is that I got confused about all the types of creatures and I couldn’t pinpoint what Zahra was exactly. Has she always been a jinni or was she something else in the beginning?

I would love it if I’m given the full book to review because, as I said earlier, I really enjoyed reading these few chapters and really want to know how things will unfold. February 2016 is too far away.
