Author: Brigid Kemmerer

Publication Date: April 24th 2012

Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones shedoesn’t want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming . . .

2 stars and a half

Really wanted to like this one because books with elemental powers really interest me but I ended up being let down.

Becca and Chris had no chemistry whatsoever; all they did was fight and argue AND THAT REALLY SADDENED ME BECAUSE THERE WAS A LOT OF POTENTIAL OKAY????

I almost fell asleep while reading this book. The building up in the first 70% of the book was yawn worthy and I skimmed through the last 30% because of how bored I was. Sure, we’d get some interesting scenes like when Chris told Becca about his powers but that was it. Everything else was just boring boring boring and even though things happen in those 30% that I skimmed through, I’m not ready to go back and read it properly.

I know what you’re saying, “But J, look at the reviews on goodreads! People loved this book!” Well people also loved Anna and the French Kiss and I gave that book 1 star.

(do you remember this WOW post? It’s by the same author and now I’m hesitant about picking it up. PLEASE BE BETTER THAN THIS ONE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE)
