Publication Date:December 27th 2016
**I received this copy from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you very much! This doesn’t affect the review in any way. My opinions, as always, are my own.**
This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2016 and I was thoroughly, thoroughly, let down. In fact, I blame this book (and another one for which the review will be coming tomorrow) for being unable to finish my goodreads challenge this year. I just wasn’t picking it up at all and because I felt so bad for that, I didn’t read anything else. There was just so much telling rather than showing and because of that, I felt zero attachment to Britta. Instead of feeling her panic with her, I read it. Instead if living the story, I read it. And I just couldn’t go on. I simply was interested in knowing what was going to happen and now I regret not dnfing this one a long time ago. Maybe if I did, I would’ve been able to finish my challenge.
